平和な甘辛城に大事件が起った。城主栗乃団子の守の一人娘あんみつ姫が、十六歳の誕生日に自由にあこがれて城中から姿を消した。公儀から娘の成人調査があり、姫が不在だと跡目相続無しを理由にお家断絶になるというので、団子の守も渋茶の方も頭をかかえてしまった。一方、姫失踪を喜んだのは、お家乗取りを企む悪家老甘栗角之進だった。
