Kristín Jóhannesdóttir (born 17 November 1948) is an Icelandic film and theatre director. Kristín's parents were Sigurbjörg Þorvaldsdóttir (1918-2007), a housewife, and Jóhannes Elíasson (1920-1975), a bank manager. Kristín's husband was Sigurður Pálsson (1948-2017) writer and poet. Their son is John Paul (1987). Kristín graduated from Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík in 1969 and then went to France and graduated in literature and film studies from Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier in 1975, a DEA degree (first part of a doctorate) in Film Studies from the same school in 1977 and later a final degree in film direction.Show more
