In 2023, he was the only latin-american selected for the IFA Masterclass in Film Directing with Ruben Östlund, where he wrote, directed and edited I Want, I Can't, I Won't. In the next year, 2024, he returned for the Masterclass, now with Andrey Zvyagintsev as a teacher. Months later, was part of the Nouvelle Bug Vol. 3, hosted by Lago Film Fest. He also studied in ESCAC, one of the 15 best film schools in the world by The Hollywood Reporter. During his time in the film school, he Las Flores Del Campo Santo. João is currently in production stage of his new short, Once Upon a Time In The Urinals...
