Mimi Pickering is the director/editor of The Buffalo Creek Flood: An Act of Man, which was selected by the Librarian of Congress for inclusion in the National Film Registry in 2005, and the update Buffalo Creek Revisited. Most recently Pickering and Anne Lewis completed Anne Braden: Southern Patriot, a documentary on the life and legacy of this white Southern woman who became a legendary civil rights leader, journalist, teacher and mentor to three generations of social justice activists. Pickering learned filmmaking at Appalshop in the early 1970s and continues to work there on various documentaries and community media projects.Show more
