She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and received a Masters Degree in Theater from the University of Mississippi. She was a natural star whose brilliance propelled her at an early age to Broadway. She loved rock and roll, and was a friend of many in the entertainment industry including Arlo Guthrie who she worked alongside in Alice's Restaurant 1969.
