Jochen Rindt (April 18, 1942 – September 5, 1970) was an Austrian racing driver and the only driver to be awarded the Formula 1 World Championship posthumously. However, Rindt tragically lost his life in a crash during a practice session at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. At the time of his death, he had accumulated enough points to secure the 1970 World Championship title, making him the only driver to win the championship after passing.
