He came to the Ugala theater as a temporary substitute actor at the invitation of Hilja Varem, the head of the school drama circle. Later, Raimo studied at the Ugala study studio created by Karl Ader and Aleksander Sats, which he graduated in 1960, and from the same year he worked as an actor at the Ugala theater in Viljandi.
