However, all of them failed to garner much attention. It wasn't until 1975, when Pai signed a contract with Hong Kong's newly founded television station CTV, that he became a household name with a string of popular costume martial arts TV series. Following CTV's demise in 1978, Pai starred in series for other stations and made a triumphant return to Shaw Brothers. From 1979 until the mid-1980's, he was one of the studio's busiest action stars with as many as five releases annually.
