Poornima has a younger sister, Priya Mohan, also an actress. Married to actor Indrajith Sukumaran, Poornima has two daughters, including singer Prarthana Indrajith. She is the daughter-in-law of the late Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran, and her brother-in-law is Prithviraj Sukumaran.
