Before his television career, O’Connor worked in finance, holding senior positions at Fleet Bank and Bank of America. His television career began unexpectedly when a letter he and his wife sent to This Old House led the crew to his home for a house call on Ask This Old House. Impressed by his curiosity and enthusiasm, producers offered him the hosting job after Steve Thomas’s departure. O’Connor soon became the third host in the show’s history. As host of This Old House, Ask This Old House, and Inside This Old House, he is known for building his skills on the job with the show’s experts and tradespeople. He also serves on the editorial board of This Old House Magazine and authored “The Best Homes from This Old House.” Kevin O’Connor lives in Massachusetts with his wife and children and remains dedicated to sharing his love for home improvement and craftsmanship with viewers.Show more
